Sharing toy bunny love on Dubai Eye 103.8 Radio
Thanks so much to Helen and producer Milanie for inviting me on the programme this week to talk about my new book - Hop Lola Hop - A Magical Christmas Adventure 🎄🐰
Not sure if I ever get used to the idea of answering questions rather than asking them but Helen made it all feel so easy. Thank you !
Chatting toy bunnies, writing for little humans, publishing tips and more details about our upcoming “Lola mini movie”.
December 2023 -
Hop Lola Hop writer Kathy Urban in conversation with Kirkus Magazine
“We’re trying to teach our children to be good, decent human beings. Caring beings. It starts at home—it starts with caring for your beloved stuffie toy, for your mom, for your dad, for your granny, for your family, for your community. How are we supposed to teach our children about bigger world problems if they don’t understand what it means to care for something?”
A few months ago, I was approached by Kirkus Magazine informing me that Hop Lola Hop was selected by its editors for the Kirkus end of year “Indies Worth Discovering booklist”.
Needless to say, I was thrilled.
It was also the perfect excuse to sit down with Kirkus reporter Alana Joli Abbott to discuss the Hop Lola Hop series in more detail.
I really enjoyed the interview. We laughed, we compared familiar toy misplacement antics and so spoke at length about some of the underlying themes the series aims to highlight in a gentle way.

How lucky these kids are being allowed to get their boots all muddy when out and about (‘because that’s where the best adventures happen’)

June 2022 - Author Kathy Urban’s Q&A with British Mums Dubai
Thank you to the fab British Mums Dubai for supporting Hop Lola Hop and my author journey.
Easily one of the best community networks for mums in Dubai, I joined British Mums all the way back in 2015 when we first set off on our expat adventure with one kid at the time and another one about to pop.
Really honoured to be featuring in their recent “Meet the Mums” blog.
